History
Mid-South Equipment Engineering, Inc. opened for business in 1969 with F.H. “Spud” Spaulding at the helm. After many successful years and the death of Mr. Spaulding in the year 2000, Kelly Hasney Sr. took control and changed the company name to Mid-South Equipment, Inc. After the change in ownership, and having retained all the existing product lines, Kelly Hasney Jr. joined the company in 2001 to take the role of Vice President. Years on, Shelly Hasney joined the team as Secretary and Treasurer in 2007.
At the beginning of 2013, the executive staff elected for Mid-South Equipment to operate as a Limited Liability Company under the name Mid-South Equipment Sales and Services LLC. After acquiring additional product lines that diversified Mid-South Equipment’s offerings, more sales personnel were hired. This brought the total to seven along with two service technicians. During this period of expansion, a new office was also opened in Lafayette to better serve the needs of our customers on the western side of the state. Additionally, in 2018, a hands-on training center was opened at the Harahan location. This allows Mid-South Equipment to host lunch-and-learns while providing technicians with vital training on their equipment. At the beginning of 2019, Kelly John Sr. semi-retired which brought a change in the executive team.

Mid-South Equipment Today
Today, Mid-South Equipment continues the tradition of service that’s focused on customer satisfaction, although we have new leadership. This new executive team, with 80 years of experience, Shelly Hasney, Kelly Hasney, Allen Laird and David Weaver will be the next generation leading this Company into the future.
In 2019, Shelly Hasney was appointed as the new president of Mid-South Equipment. She is one of the few female company presidents in this male-dominated industry, leading Mid-South Equipment to be recognized as a DBE Certified Business with the City of New Orleans as well as with Louisiana DOTD.
All Mid-South Equipment, sales personnel have real-world experience working on or with HVAC equipment and are members of ASHRAE.

Mid-South Equipment Sales & Services is pleased to announce our LAUCP & SLDBE (disadvantaged business enterprise and a small business element) certification by the Louisiana Department of Transportation (LADOTD) as well as the City of New Orleans. With these certifications we are eligible to fulfill both the City and State’s minority business participation goal for city, state and federally funded contracts.
